Face Evolution – Breakdown

“Human facial expression is one of the most expressive and complicated among the others. Every single expression can represent a blend of many emotions at the same time. It can hide the real emotion behind the face but it cannot tell a lie.”

The first solution to see how are two emotions are blended together is using a morphing method in the compositing application. Based on the face elements’ shape, wrinkle, position and distortion, like on forehead, nose, mouth, eyes, eyebrows, and bone structure, the animation is able to show how those faces will be blended together in the process of morphing.

The other technique that can be used to see the blended face emotions is combining each element of the faces together. The three face emotions are extracted into every single element and put together, merging the shape , color, and distortion into one face.
